Modular terminals are the basic product group from Weidmuller . There are a variety of  terminals in the market, however, manufacturers rarely have all the available types in their offers. The Weidmuller Company as one of these companies has terminals in the screwing technology ( W- S eries , SAK, WMF), tension clamp ( Z- S eries , Roof-Style) and PUSH IN (P-Series), becoming the market leader in this field.

The first type of  modular terminals , from the extensive range of  Weidmuller products are the W- S eries terminals. These are some of the most popular modular terminals , which for years have had a leading position in the market. W-S eries offer is comprised of, among other things, WDU feed-through terminals as well as WDK feed-in terminals and WPE modular PE conductor terminals with rated cross-section from 0.05 to 300 mm2. In the W- S eries terminals electrical and mechanical functions are isolated by the manufacturer. Tension clamp and clamping screw are made of hardened steel so that it is possible to obtain a high contact force. Low voltage drops are obtained by the use of copper bus bars and a tin-plated surface for minimum contact resistance. Terminal cross-connection is possible thanks to the screw-in or plug-in cross-connections, allowing considerable time savings during prefabrication. W- S eries terminals can be clipped to or removed from the terminal DIN rails. The Wemid material used in production, provides thermal stability up to 120 Celsius degrees and High UL 94 flammability class – V0 class. W-S eries has a number of domestic and international certificates, including approval for railway applications and ATEX release.

New in the Weidmuller modular terminal line are WMF-Series terminals. They provide multi-functional solution for routing and distributing signals designed to separate DCS signals. Compared to the typical fuse terminals they are narrower which allow you to save space in the cabinet.

Another type of  modular terminals offered by  Weidmuller are tension clamp connections such as the Z-Series , ZPV-Series (potential distributor) and ZDUA, ZDUB- a mini series of terminals. Their design with a stainless steel spring provides a zero-maintenance and vibration-proof connection, for cross-sections up to 35 mm2. Similarly to  W-S eries , tension clamp terminals you can find available in feed-through, isolating, fuse and plug-in terminal versions.

The innovative terminal concept is introduced by  PUSH IN (P-Series) technology compared to the previous series .The concept of these terminals is three instead of five terminals which enables you to connect the five cross-sections up to 16 mm² as in the W-S eries and Z -S eries , the new P-series is comprised of installation terminals, feed-through terminals, and PE terminals, isolating terminals,  and neutral conductor disconnection terminals. The benefit from PUSH IN technology is a wiring assembly that uses stiff wires or wire end ferrules and by inserting them into the clamping point, makes a solid and reliable electrical connection without need of any tools. It reduces wiring times. In addition, the compact construction compared to the W- series and the Z- series with the rated current saves assembly space.

All Weidmuller modular terminals come in many different sizes depending on the wire cross-section and also variety of colors to help identify the circuits in complex applications.
